Loks Amillion began his career as a rap artist with Hugo Boss of the Diaz Brothers, but he wanted more;
he wanted to produce, too. Though his strong spiritual background and hood attire made him seem out
of place for a hip-hop scene dominated by money hungry personalities, Loks Amillion’s talent and
determination led to his first success. Hillz, of Zimbabwe Africa releashed his debut album, (Just The
Beginning), redefined the rules of hip-hop, taking a foreign country artist lyrics and mixing them with
down south hip-hop beats. Around this time Loks recorded his debut album, (I Got Luv For Miami), under
the management of Disco Rick And Mike Green in August of 2005. Loks started to become known to hip-
hop’s biggest stars in Miami.
Loks was born on February 22, 1976, to Carol D. Gardner. He is the first child of five from a single mother.
Living with his grandparents gave him confidence to pursue his dreams of playing football, music, &
the arts. He became a high school football star wide receiver in 1994 for Hialeah High School, But being a
football star had a conflict of interest with his musical extra-curriculum school activities. The spotlight was
darkened by racist coaches who used his involvement in school musical activities as an act of no commitment
to the team. He formed a hip-hop group with former football player (Manuel “Blackface” Escarment) called
K.O.S.-(Knowledge of Styles).
After graduating from high school, his rap group became hypemen for hip-hop pioneers “G.O.D.”-(Givers of
Divinity), better known as SlyKat and Mr. Smart. They opened up for hip-hop star likes KRS-1, Onyx, Afrika
Bambaataa, Aaron Hall, and Channel Live, just to name a few. The young rap group started working with Hugo
Boss of the Diaz Brothers, who was working under his brother Luis Diaz before he became a star. Inspired, Loks
brought a keyboard and a Roland 1880, and spent lots of time rapping and making beats in his bedroom. He
attended Miami-Dade Community College to pursue a degree in Music Business, but he drop out to pursue
a career in music, thwarting his grandmother’s hopes that he will play college football. Loks took his knowledge
from school and decided to incorporate his production company, Drive-By Entertainment.
Sitting on a bench on the college campus, Loks was approached by Zimbabwe, Africa rap artist, Hillz. Hillz heard
Loks music and wanted to do some business. Hillz recorded his debut album,”Just the Beginning” in 2004 and
released it in England and Africa. Loks was later introduced to Luke Records former artist “Disco Rick and
businessman, “Mike Green” of Platinum Studios to help produce a song for a r&b singer. Loks CD got in
Disco Rick hands and about a day later Loks got a phone call to come in to have a meeting about an artist
management situation. Loks recorded his debut album in 2005 under Platinum Studios & Management,
but it never got released due to company corruption. Loks learned to engineer himself during his contract
with Platinum Management. Eddie “Mix” Hernandez, now Head Engineer of Maybach Music was head engineer
at Platinum Studios at the time. He showed Loks the basic fundamentals of sound engineering. Loks took
his wisdom and experience to become a hip-hop powerhouse with just himself.

with the swagger of a Lil Wanye” says Loks. Local Miami Artists are coming to Loks for his Drive-By Sound.
